Introduction
There’s nothing quite like a well-made cheese board — it’s equal parts indulgence, hospitality, and visual poetry. Whether you're entertaining at home or curating a menu for your restaurant, this grazing board brings together handcrafted cheeses and complementary bites in a way that feels generous, elegant, and deliciously satisfying.
This guide features some of our favourites: creamy Brie, firm Tomme slices, soft bocconcini, and our signature fresh cheese spread. Paired with toasted crostini, crackers, honey, nuts, and fruits, this is your go-to blueprint for creating a cheese board that’s equal parts crowd-pleaser and showstopper.
Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
- Spotted Cow Brie (or Camembay) – 6–8 slices, fanned into a petal shape
- Tomme Cheese – thick wedges, arranged in a zig-zag pattern
- Spotted Cow Bocconcini – whole pieces, served in a small bowl
- Spotted Cow Fresh Cheese Spread – served in a bowl and topped with rosemary
- Mini toasts or crostini – lightly crisped
- Salted crackers – plain or seeded
- Raw honey – served in a bowl with a honey dipper
- Seedless red grapes – rinsed and left on the vine
- Walnuts – a generous handful
- Gherkins – served in a ramekin
- Kiwi slices – optional, for colour
- Fresh herbs – rosemary, sage, or bay leaves
Instructions
- Prepare the Cheeses: Cut the brie into even slices and fan into a flower shape. Slice the tomme into thick wedges and arrange in a zig-zag. Place the bocconcini and fresh cheese spread into bowls.
- Anchor the Board: Place your cheese bowls (bocconcini, fresh cheese, honey) in a triangle to create balance.
- Layer in the Crunch: Add crostini and crackers around the cheeses. Alternate textures for contrast.
- Add Colour & Sweetness: Place red grapes and kiwi slices for vibrant contrast. Add the honey.
- Fill in with Accents: Add walnuts and gherkins in clusters or ramekins. Garnish with herbs.
- Let It Breathe: Let cheeses sit for 30–45 minutes before serving for best flavor and texture.
Pro Tips
- Balance: Use a mix of soft, firm, creamy, sweet, and salty elements.
- Odd Numbers: Group cheeses and bowls in odd numbers for a natural layout.
- Negative Space: Don’t overcrowd — space helps each item shine.
